As a service to members and guests attending services, childcare is provided during daytime services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This year, as in the past six years, we have been extremely fortunate to obtain the services of women who are much loved by our children who know them from the neighborhood preschool program at which they work.
Once a month there is a Kabbalat Shabbat program for children during the 6:00 PM service. A similar program is available at some Shabbat morning services. For details, see the calendar.
Children are always welcome at Beth Am services. Our expectation is that children will behave while in the sanctuary. Obviously, a child crying loudly is not acceptable. The headphones that are provided for those who need assistance hearing are also available: their working range allows people to go into the vestibule and still hear the service and the sermon.
